FAQ

What You Need to Know Before You Go

Can I bring my dog (or other pets) to the launch field?

We love furry friends, but please leave pets at home. The loud sound of the burners can be painful and frightening for animals, and pet waste can damage sensitive balloon materials.

Why can’t I smoke or vape near the balloons?

Safety first! The launch field is filled with flammable propane, even vape devices can create sparks. Smoking or vaping also risks damaging balloon fabric. Please keep it smoke-free for everyone’s safety.

Can I bring food or drinks to the launch field?

Sure! Just please clean up after yourself and don’t leave trash behind. The balloon field is a shared space, and we want to keep it clean for everyone (and the balloons!).

What’s the deal with those big fans?

Those inflation fans are powerful and can be dangerous. Please stay at least 8 feet away, they can easily catch loose clothing, long hair, or even gear.

Is it okay to walk near or on the balloons?

Nope! Never step on or over a balloon that’s on the ground. It can damage the fabric. Also, don’t cross over ropes, they move fast and can trip or hurt you.

Is it safe to bring babies or small children?

Yes, but be mindful, the burners are loud. We recommend bringing ear protection for little ones, especially toddlers and babies, since the noise can be overwhelming.

What should I watch out for when walking around?

Balloons = big equipment. Watch for ropes, gear, and moving vehicles, and always be aware of your surroundings. Balloons can inflate quickly, and crews need space to work.

Can I talk to pilots or crew members?

Absolutely! Ask questions! They love sharing balloon knowledge. Just give them a moment if they’re actively working. Listen to crew instructions, and if you’re asked to move, please do so quickly and respectfully.

What should I bring to stay comfortable?

It’s often dark early in the morning, so bring a flashlight. Also consider bug spray, sunscreen, and water, just don’t spray anything near the balloons or fabric.

What’s the best way to help the event run smoothly?

Be patient, polite, and flexible! Ballooning is 100% weather-dependent, and things can change quickly. Your kindness makes all the difference for our pilots, crew, and fellow spectators.
